If you have been following me for a while, you will be aware that my Dad has been ill for quite a while. He had to move into a care home in December and he has continued to deteriorate. He had a hospital admission for an unidentified infection at the end of April/beginning of May. Since then he has been very frail and he had started to exhibit symptoms of Dementia.

Mum and I saw him yesterday morning and he was very frail but it was still a shock when the care home rang at 6.30 pm to say he had died.

I am very glad he is now at peace as he has suffered so much over the last few years.

My weekend

This weekend the Oh! bearded one was away with Scouts and DD wasn't working so I didn't have Little Gromit either so I sewed!

This quilt has been back from the quilter (Jude) for a good few weeks. It was supposed to be for my Dad but he can't stand even something this heavy on his very sore feet so it has been sat about. I decided I would, at least get the binding on it. I am now hand stitching it down and am about half way round.

I made this little quilt ages ago for the care home I was working in. That never happened. I came across a Facebook group that makes things for good causes. One of the requests were for small quilts for a care home in Cumbria so this quilt is going there as soon as I have hand stitched the binding down.

I started this quilt in 2012 as a mystery quilt through the quilt group I belonged to at that time. It's component parts have been just sitting there. I thought it would be suitable for my Mum for her 80th birthday in August. It just needs its borders then it will be off to Jude

My blogging mojo.............................

......................................................disappeared! I'm not how long it is back for but I thought I would catch up on my current projects, although it is more about whats not been added to!

I've not added many more 'wild and gooseys' but this is a project that hasn't got an end time so I'll add to them as and when

This cardi has now 2 fronts and nearly a full sleeve!

'Attic 24' blanket hasn't been added to.

This quilt is back from the quilters and is awaiting its' binding

I have completed this purse which was made from a kit that I bought at the Uttoxter quilt show at the end of April. I made it the same weekend.

I've got some other things in the pipeline that I will show next time.

At the beginning of May we went on holiday. We went to Cornwall for a week. Great Grandad isn't able to travel any more so he had to stay at home and Daddy had to work so it was Great Granny, Grandad, Granny, Mummy, uncle and Meg, the dog went. The weather wasn't brilliant but it didn't stop Little Gromit enjoying his first time on the beach! He is now 17 months, learning new words at the rate of 2-3 a week and full of beans!

Hopefully, I won't leave it so long next time!
