Hopefully the virus is on its way out, although I've not felt brillant I'm better than yesterday. I am also hopeful about the job interview, I think it went very well and I go back next Tuesday for a practical aspect of the interview process.

I post on the last leap year in 2008 so this is my second 29th February post! I just had to!!!

I'm not playing....

I should be enjoying myself (I'm on holiday from work this week) .....

......and I should be working on this (it should be on its' way across the world, sorry Mouthy Stitches)

but instead I'm like this....

... in bed suffering with a virus that went round work all of last week.

I know I've been MIA. I've been in a funny place for the last few weeks. Work is still an issue and I'm still job hunting. I have decided I'm looking for Care Home Manager posts, there are quite a few about which is good. I've had 2 interviews so far, I didn't get either job but I wasn't bothered as I didn't like either company and would have turned them down if I had been offered them. Tomorrow I've got an interview with a big company and they've got a few posts going so I'm hopeful, especially as there are people within the company that either know of me or know me as this company has risen out of the company that folded last year. It's just a b£$$%^ that I will be going to an interview coughing, sneezing and with a red nose!

quilt group

As I said yesterday, I have joined a quilt group. When I joined in November

  the ladies of the group were half way through making medallion quilts. Last month several ladies brought theirs to work on.

Don't they all look different? I wish I had been there at the beginning because I would have loved to make this quilt, I love it!

New fabric

I know the Nantwich fabric sale was 2 weeks ago but I'm only just getting around to posting my fabric purchases.

A range of civil war repros to add to my ever growing stash of repros. I love this type of fabric and I have seen some of the most wonderful quilts made from them so I have to keep collecting. I've had to buy a bigger box to keep them in! 

 I have recently joined a quilt group - Hartford Quilters. This year we are going to be making a mystery quilt and these are the fabrics I've bought for it. I just hope they will work as I love the fabrics even though plummy colour is really out of my comfort zone.

These fabrics are a half metre each and I bought them 'just beacuse'. Again the colour range is out of my normal comfort zone but I love them. At present I've know idea what I'll make with them but the right thing will come along. 

I think these FQs were a £1 each and I thought they would make a nice table runner or mat to give as a present.

I recently finished this crochet scarf that I started in November. I bought the yarn and pattern as a kit from the Toft Alpaca Shop stand at the Harrogate Knitting & Stitching show

I didn't like the orginal pattern so developed my own and I have given it to a work colleague that fell in love with it.

This week I have finished this little shawl called Ambleside from Raverly. Unfortuately it is too small for me so Jan, if it fits you, you have gained a little shawl.

I am in the process of making some hexis, I hope my partner likes what I have got in mind and I hope I can pull it off.
